Yes! We are currently working on adding more iSpeak Apps that support even more languages, stay tuned.

An internet connection is required to obtain a NEW translation. Saved translations, and using the built in text to speech to read your translations back do no require any internet connection, and is generated natively on the device itself.

All speech synthesis done in our iSpeak apps is generated within the App itself (it does not need an internet connection for TTS), this coupled with the very advanced and high quality text to speech engine used in iSpeak means the Apps are rather large for iPhone Apps (~100MB). Apple does not allow downloading Apps greater than 20MB over cellular connection, so downloading these apps on your computer in iTunes should only take a few minutes.

First, make sure your iPhone is not on silence and have the speaker volume all the way up. If you are still having this problem, open your iPhone’s iPod App and make sure its volume is turned up. If your iPod App’s volume is low it can effect the volume of iSpeak.
